Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a Serie A centre-back, but they will face heavy competition for his signature in the summer.

Reports indicate that the Tottenham hierarchy are worried about the possibility of losing both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven this summer.

Additionally, some of the biggest clubs in Europe are allegedly after Luka Vuskovic, who is enjoying an outstanding breakthrough season on loan at Hamburg.

It thus comes as no surprise that the North London club appear to be scouring the market for possible replacements, and one experienced defender has caught their eye.

Tottenham battling Premier League duo for Evan Ndicka

Tottenham were credited with an interest in Roma star Evan Ndicka last summer, and the club have not yet given up their pursuit of the centre-back.

This is according to CaughtOffside, who say that Tottenham and Liverpool are both tracking the Roma star closely ahead of the summer window.

Spurs and the Reds are ‘expected to increase their interest’ in the 26-year-old as we get close to the summer window, as both clubs step up plans to reinforce their backline.

Additionally, the report reveals that Man United have now become the latest Premier League club to enter the race for the Ivory Coast international, who is also wanted by clubs from the continent.

Ndicka price revealed as two European giants circle

CaughtOffside reveal that two European giants are also fans of Ndicka, with Bayern Munich keeping tabs on the player and Barcelona having held long-term interest in the defender.

Roma do not wish to lose the former Eintracht Frankfurt man this summer, but they may be forced to cash in as they need to sell key players before June 30 to comply with the financial regulations.

It is suggested that the Giallorossi may be tempted to sell Ndicka if they receive an offer in the region of €45m (£39m).
