Tottenham Make Feelings Clear on Real Madrid Star Amid PSG Link

Despite a summer full of transfer speculation, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo remained with the club. The Brazilian had been linked to PSG, but nothing materialized.

Reports on PSG’s interest have been mixed. Foot Mercato’s Josué Cassé noted that Rodrygo wasn’t on PSG’s shortlist. At the same time, Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg suggested both PSG and Liverpool were monitoring him, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly not involved.

A move to PSG could still happen in the future, but any transfer will likely depend on how Rodrygo’s role at Madrid evolves this season.

TEAMtalk reports that Tottenham have placed Rodrygo near the top of their list of attacking targets. The Brazilian forward is reportedly eager to challenge himself in the Premier League and secure consistent playing time before the next World Cup.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, could look to use their interest in Micky van de Ven as leverage in any potential discussions.

TBR Football reported Monday that Arsenal and Tottenham have been made aware that Rodrygo is once again weighing his future with Real Madrid. The Spanish club convinced the attacker to remain in Madrid during the summer window despite speculation about a possible move.

But his doubts about playing time have turned out to be justified. The 24-year-old has started only two matches this season, with Xabi Alonso often turning to Franco Mastantuono and Arda Guler instead.

“Rodrygo’s situation has not improved this season,” TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, said. “As we reported in the summer, Xabi Alonso always planned on making Arda Guler one of his key figures, and that has played out as expected.

“With teen starlet Franco Mastantuono also getting regular game time, there is little sign of how Rodrygo can find a route back into the lineup. I am told that Rodrygo is again considering his options, and one possibility is a switch to the Premier League, which could become a real option in January. He is certainly one to watch as we approach the New Year.”
