Tottenham Hotspur may get an opportunity to land a Premier League winger who they have been keen on during the last two transfer windows.

The summer window is still some way away, and Tottenham have to worry about the small matter of securing their Premier League status first.

However, it appears Spurs have already started identifying potential summer targets, with their squad in need of significant reinforcements after a quiet January window.

One Premier League winger has been a long-term Spurs target, and the club may finally get an opportunity to bring him through the door this summer.

Man City may cash in on Tottenham target Savinho

According to reports, Tottenham were ready to pay £70m for Savinho last summer, and while their advances were rebuffed by City, Spurs’ interest in the player remained even in January.

Football Insider have now revealed that Pep Guardiola ‘worked hard’ to keep hold of the 21-year-old in the last two transfer windows amidst interest from the likes of Spurs, but his stance may change in the summer.

The report claims that Man City may consider letting Savinho go in the summer if they can add further attacking options to their squad.

The Cityzens are expected to have another busy window and are keen to continue re-signing their squad. The door could thus be opened for the Brazilian to leave, with Tottenham potentially set to be handed a big opportunity.

Is Savinho still high on Spurs’ wishlist?

According to reports, Thomas Frank was the driving force behind Tottenham’s pursuit of Savinho, with the Dane thought to be a big fan of the City youngster.

Now that Frank has departed, one wonders if the Brazilian is still as high up the North London club’s wishlist as he once was.

Besides, Savinho has failed to deliver when opportunities have come his way this season, and Spurs may be hesitant to take a gamble by spending big on a player who has yet to consistently prove himself in the Premier League.
