Tottenham has a lengthy injury list to contend with as under-pressure boss Thomas Frank looks to pick up a much-needed win over Liverpool on Saturday.

The Reds head to north London tomorrow looking to boost their top four hopes - they sit two points off fourth-placed Chelsea ahead of kick-off, having taken eight points from their last four games following an awful run of form over the previous couple of months.

Arne Slot will have to deal with the absence of Mohamed Salah, who has made his way to the Africa Cup of Nations, while he’ll have to wait to make a decision on Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong, with Joe Gomez and Cody Gakpo missing out through injury.

Slot can at least be glad he doesn’t have to deal with the problems his opposite number will have on Saturday, with Tottenham expected to be without as many as eight senior players.

James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski are all long-term absentees for Spurs, while Kota Takai and Radu Dragusin are not expected to be ready despite returning to training.

To add insult to injury, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr are both unavailable after being selected by Mali and Senegal respectively for AFCON - the latter may not have been available in any case, having been suspended by the club.

Frank is therefore expected to have the same group of players that were named in the squad for last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

“Everyone is doing fine. Last game, I think it's the same players available,” Frank confirmed in his press conference on Friday. “No one new is available.”

The Spurs boss will be hoping his depleted squad can ease some of the pressure that is on him at the moment, with Frank having faced criticism from supporters for his side having won just two of their eight home games so far this season.

"I feel supported," Frank said when asked about the pressure mounting on him. "I've done that the whole time. And as I said, also after the game, that hadn't changed my mind.

“This is not a quick fix. This will take time. That's not to say that we're not going to do everything we can to beat Liverpool. I believe we have a good chance of doing that.

"But this is something where we are building. And I've said it many times. We, of course, first and foremost, are the most critical of myself.

“So that's one thing. But I think it's fair to say that we are a lot of people in it that need to perform well together. With me in charge, of course, and taking the right decisions."
