Tottenham failed to close the gap on the Champions League places after drawing 0-0 with Thomas Frank's former side Brentford on New Year's Day

Tottenham failed to make it two wins in four days as they drew 0-0 at Brentford to remain in the bottom half of the Premier League table. The dull encounter saw Thomas Frank return to the Gtech Community Stadium after leaving the Bees in June.
Both teams struggled to trouble the goalkeepers in a game that lacked much quality. Kevin Schade turned the ball home from close range, but it was quickly ruled out for offside.
Brentford had the game's most exciting chances, but Keane Lewis-Potter, Igor Thiago and Vitaly Janelt all failed to score. The point leaves Spurs 12th in the table after 19 games, ahead of two big games.
Their double-header against Sunderland and Bournemouth could see them pull themselves back into the Champions League conversation. Here, football.london takes a look at their next five fixtures compared to those of the teams around them...
