Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that 17-year-old Mikey Moore has completed a season-long loan move to Rangers, as the highly-rated teenager continues his development away from North London.

Tottenham Hotspur are now in Asia for their pre-season tour that will see them play against Arsenal and Newcastle United, as Thomas Frank’s side continues preparations for the upcoming campaign.

Frank’s pre-season tour squad notably excluded one of Tottenham’s brightest young prospects, Mikey Moore, and it was later revealed that this decision was made to allow the youngster, along with several others, to explore potential loan moves during the summer.

On 28 July, reports surfaced stating that Rangers had emerged as the frontrunners to sign Moore, with the Scottish side identified as his most likely destination at the time.

Rangers sign Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore on loan

Tottenham Hotspur have now officially confirmed that Mikey Moore is set to spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Scottish Premiership side Rangers.

The 17-year-old has made 21 appearances for Tottenham since making his debut in October 2024, during a Premier League clash against Manchester City.

At the time, he was just 16 years, nine months, and three days old, making him the youngest ever player to represent Tottenham in the Premier League.

Rangers have managed to beat off interest from several Championship clubs to secure Moore’s signature, with the talented attacker now looking to gain valuable first-team experience at one of Scotland’s biggest clubs – a side that will also be involved in Champions League football this season.

When talking about a potential loan move last week, Thomas Frank was full of praise for Moore and his potential at Tottenham.

He said: “It is very important. Mikey is a big talent. I am really excited about his future here at Tottenham. I think for all players, but especially younger players, they need consistent first-team football into their bodies. I think if we can find the right option, we will do that.”

Spurs youngster Moore continues development with Rangers

Moore now joins the likes of Ashley Phillips and Alejo Veliz as part of Tottenham’s crop of young players spending the season out on loan.

Reports had suggested that Moore was keen on securing a loan move this summer in search of more consistent gametime, and Tottenham have now granted that wish to support his continued development.

Spurs are believed to be planning to offer Moore a new deal when he turns 18, and the club will be hoping that upon his return next season, he will be ready to challenge for a place in Thomas Frank’s first-team squad.
