Tottenham one of six clubs tracking £40m FA Cup hat-trick hero this January

Tottenham Hotspur are one of several Premier League clubs monitoring a potential move for a £40 million Premier League forward who outscored Dominic Solanke last season.

With games coming thick and fast, the need for greater depth in the squad continues to increase for every club, including Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have managed to deal with an injury crisis in the past, but another has now emerged, with eight players currently absent, six of whom are due to injury.

The forward area remains a position of particular concern, with Dominic Solanke, Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Bergvall, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison all sidelined.

Tottenham among clubs tracking Jorgen Strand Larsen

Solanke’s time at Spurs has been plagued by injuries, which have proven frustrating. This season, the forward has barely had a run of games and has already spent six months sidelined.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are understood to be among six clubs currently showing interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

It is believed that Wolves are open to selling the striker for around £40 million, amid increased interest from Nottingham Forest.

While the relegation-threatened side remains keen to sign Larsen, it has also been revealed that, on the eve of the winter window, the Norway international was a target for Crystal Palace and West Ham United.

Meanwhile, other clubs such as Everton, Aston Villa and Spurs have also considered the 25-year-old, but have been unsure about his recent form.

Strand Larsen’s form and how he compares with Solanke

Strand Larsen has struggled for form this season, managing just one goal and one assist in 19 appearances, which is far from ideal for a Premier League forward.

Last term, however, he was far more productive, recording 14 goals and four assists in 34 league appearances.

That return came in a season where Wolves performed better as a team and still had Matheus Cunha as their talisman.

This season, the Midlands club find themselves rooted to the bottom, and that drop-off in quality has clearly affected Strand Larsen, who outscored Solanke in the league last term.
