Tottenham Hotspur have been credited with an interest in a France international centre-back, but they face competition from Premier League sides as well as from others across Europe for the player.
Thomas Frank refused to answer if he would want to sign another centre-back if Cristian Romero leaves, insisting that he does not deal in hypotheticals.
However, reports claim that the North London club are indeed scouring the market for centre-backs. It has been alleged that Spurs are willing to spend over £60m on Bournemouth’s Illia Zabarnyi.
Meanwhile, it has also been suggested that Tottenham are exploring a move for Genoa’s Koni De Winter, and a new report has now claimed Lilywhites are also tracking a La Liga defender.
Tottenham in five-horse race to sign Sevilla star Loic Bade
It has been revealed by El Chiringuito TV that Tottenham Hotspur are one of three Premier League clubs considering a move for Sevilla’s Loic Bade.
The outlet claims that Sunderland and Bournemouth are very interested in Bade, while Tottenham have also enquired about the 25-year-old.
Additionally, Marseille and Villarreal are also very much involved in the race for the former Rennes star, whose future at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium is said to be in doubt.
This is not the first time that the Sevilla man has been linked with a move to Spurs, with Tottenham exploring a move for Bade back in January.
French contradicts report that Spurs want Bade
However, a report from Foot Mercato contradicts the information provided by El Chiringuito TV regarding the North London side’s interest in Bade.
The outlet confirms that the Black Cats and the Cherries are keen on the Sevilla man, with those two said to be in pole position for the defender.
They also say that Marseille and Villarreal are in the mix for Bade, who is valued at €30m (£26m). However, the publication alleges that the fifth club in the race for the centre-back is not Spurs, but Aston Villa.
