They are not alone as Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle, Chelsea, and Sunderland have also contacted the 28-year-old’s representatives regarding a free transfer.
However, these discussions are described as ‘purely exploratory’, and it is revealed that Juventus and Napoli are also keeping an eye on the defender’s situation.

Spurs may have to hurry if they want to secure the Bournemouth man, as Barcelona have accelerated negotiations for the centre-back over recent weeks.
It is revealed that the Catalan club are now preparing an offer that is proving to be the ‘most intriguing’ to Senesi’s camp so far.
A source close to the Argentine’s situation is quoted as telling the outlet: “There is a lot of interest in Marcos, but when Barcelona are interested, that is tough to ignore. He has not ruled out anything as yet, but fair to say Barca is a huge lure.”
