The Lewis family are going to take a significant step during Tottenham Hotspur’s London derby against West Ham United this Saturday to show that they are very much invested in the North London club’s fortunes.
After sacking Daniel Levy, Tottenham’s owners have suggested that they want to usher in a new era at the club, where on-pitch success is prioritised.
That was also backed up by the club’s CEO, Vinai Venkatesham, who assured fans that the Lewis family are very much invested in Tottenham’s fortunes and are extremely hungry for success.
However, Spurs fans will want to see if they can back it up with actions, and according to a new report, they are ready to send a signal to the supporters this Saturday.
The Lewis family will attend the derby at the London Stadium
The Telegraph have now claimed that the Lewis family want to make a ‘public show of power’ to signal that they are hungry for trophies.
The family are thus expected to attend the game between West Ham and Spurs, which will be the first match of the post-Levy era for the North London side.
Members of the family have barely attended any games over the years, but they want to be seen in front of the cameras at the London Stadium, which they see as significant, given the events of the last few days.
ENIC do not want to sell Tottenham
It emerged a couple of days ago that two consortia had approached ENIC regarding a potential takeover of Spurs.
Tottenham revealed on Sunday that they rejected both approaches to buy a stake in the club, reiterating their commitment to steer the Lilywhites to success.
However, Amanda Staveley’s consortium is not ruling out another approach to buy Spurs, while another consortium, Firehawk Holdings, is allowed to make an offer within the next 28 days under the Takeover Code after signalling its interest.
