Here are our Tottenham player ratings following their victory against Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday evening
Tottenham sealed a 3-0 win against Slavia Prague in the Champions League on Tuesday night and here are our Spurs player ratings.
Thomas Frank had made just two changes to his Tottenham team with Joao Palhinha and Wilson Odobert coming into the side for Rodrigo Bentancur and Randal Kolo Muani. Odobert almost made an immediate impact within 36 seconds as his low cross found Richarlison only for the Brazilian's shot to hit Slavia goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek on the shoulder and deflect up and over the crossbar.
Spurs took the lead 26 minutes in when Cristian Romero flicked on Pedro Porro's corner and David Zima headed the ball into his own net. It was a landmark moment for the club as it was Tottenham's 100th Champions League goal.
Just five minutes into the second half Tottenham doubled their lead. Porro was chopped down as he hit a low cross into the six-yard box. Romero told Richarlison to hand the penalty to Mohammed Kudus and the Ghanaian sent his kick down the middle of the goal with the keeper diving past it.
Spurs scored another penalty in the 79th minute when Xavi Simons was brought down in the box running on to Randal Kolo Muani's knockdown. Romero handed the ball to the Dutchman with Kudus off the pitch, to take the spot kick and his effort flew into the bottom right corner of the net off the keeper's left glove to seal the victory.
Here are our Spurs player ratings from the win
Guglielmo Vicario
Made a couple of first half save including one from the speedy Sanyang before making some more comfortable claims in the second period. 7
Pedro Porro
Curled in the corner that Spurs scored their 100th Champions League goal from. Then took the hit to win the penalty early in the second half. Took another whack before coming off. 7
Cristian Romero
Flicked on Porro's corner to force Zima's own goal and was decisive in everything he did, including naming who would take the penalties. 8
Micky van de Ven
Suspended from the Dortmund game after a daft little flick of his elbow while running in his own half. Otherwise it was another solid display. 7
Djed Spence
Often inverted in a throwback to last season. Was constantly involved at both ends of the pitch and had a late shot saved by the keeper. 7
Archie Gray
Another busy performance with a couple of breaks into the box, setting up Odobert for a second half chance. 6
Joao Palhinha
Got a yellow card for a perfectly good tackle and played some good progressive passes. 6
Mohammed Kudus
Had the beating of the Slavia defence from the start and Zima eventually got booked for constantly trying to hang on to him. The Ghanaian then was told to take the penalty by Romero and fired it home for his third goal of the season. 8
Xavi Simons
Again showed what his impact on this team can be. Spurs look so much more progressive and dangerous with him in the team. Linked everything together and scored a penalty after winning it himself. Also had a shot saved in the 72nd minute. Not as dazzling as against Brentford but still makes such a difference. 8
Wilson Odobert
Set up Richarlison with a low cross and had a second half shot saved. Didn't do too much in between but was still a threat in key moments before coming off. 6
Richarlison
Unmarked 36 seconds in but his shot hit the keeper's shoulder. Some neat hold-up play but fluffed a chance in the six-yard box from another low cross in the second half. Was ordered to give the penalty to Kudus by his captain. 6
Subs
Mathys Tel
Inserted into the Champions League and fashioned himself a chance soon after entering the fray with some quick feet and a saved low shot. Looked lively. 6
Pape Matar Sarr
Saw his follow-up to Tel's shot saved by the keeper. A bright cameo. 6
Ben Davies
Got a great ovation from the crowd as he came on for his first minutes of the season, in his 11th year at the club. Defended solidly and was taking corners from the right. 6
Randal Kolo Muani
Knocked down the ball perfectly into Xavi's path for the penalty. The biggest impact of the subs with his runs. 7
Lucas Bergvall
Came on for the final 10 minutes and was a busy presence. N/A
