Here's the Tottenham team that we reckon Igor Tudor could select for the Champions League last 16 second leg clash with Atletico Madrid
Tottenham boss Igor Tudor must select a team from a squad still without a huge number of absent players for their Champions League return tie with Atletico Madrid despite a trio of returning faces.
Spurs must find a way back into the tie after a 5-2 deficit from the last 16 first leg in Madrid last week, following that disastrous start. They will be buoyed somewhat after their battling display to grab a point at Liverpool but Tudor must again deal with a huge list of missing players.
Tottenham's goalscorer at Anfield, Richarlison, is suspended from this European encounter after reaching three yellow cards and Tudor gave further good and bad news at his press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
"Destiny [Udogie] and Lucas [Bergvall] will be on the bench tomorrow. One part of the game, not too much because they just started to train with us but it is good to see them," said the Croatian. "Romero is there. He can play. Joao [Palhinha] no. He is doing worse so he will be for the next game but Romero is in."
On Conor Gallagher, Tudor told football.london: "We see today what we can do because he has, as you know, asthma problems. He has some virus to make some not nice things so we are going to see tomorrow if he is able to go on the bench. Nothing dangerous but still he is not able to play."
The Tottenham boss later admitted more bad news in a club interview: "Dom (Solanke) has some small problems, so we’ll see tomorrow how he is. Also, Souza is not available [ineligible]."
If Gallagher and Solanke are unavailable then that makes it 12 missing players for Spurs and Sunday's match against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest is so important to their Premier League survival hopes that it makes no sense to risk anyone who could potentially get worse and miss that game.
With that in mind, we reckon this is pretty much the only team available to Tudor, other than a quartet of centre-backs to choose from.
(3-4-3) Vicario; Danso, Romero, Van de Ven; Porro, Gray, Sarr, Spence; Tel, Kolo Muani, Xavi.
