Tottenham Hotspur got back to winning ways after back-to-back draws in their two Premier League fixtures before their trip to Elland Road in matchweek seven.

Goals from Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus proved enough on the afternoon for Spurs, who secured a 2-1 win over the newly promoted side.

It was a fixture that saw two new faces get off the mark for Tottenham and, in the process, a major milestone was reached for the club.

Mohammed Kudus adds Ghana to Tottenham’s Premier League goalscoring nations

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Mohammed Kudus’s match-winner against Leeds on Saturday saw the number of different nationalities to score for the Lilywhites in the Premier League rise to 43.

Kudus also became the first Ghanaian to score for Spurs in the Premier League, and the 11th African player to do so since the competition began in 1992.

He is now Tottenham’s 179th different Premier League goalscorer – the highest number recorded by any club in the division.

The Ghanaian’s strike also marked the newest nationality to contribute a Premier League goal for Tottenham since 2023, when Senegal’s Pape Matar Sarr scored in a 2-0 win over Manchester United in August that year.

Only Fulham have had more nationalities represented from goalscorers, although Opta have the stats down as 45 to Tottenham and 47 to the Cottagers.
