Tottenham receive twist in Radu Dragusin saga as Antonio Conte has his say

2 hours ago 19

A former Tottenham Hotspur head coach now wants to add Radu Dragusin to his squad as the race for the centre-back’s signature intensifies.

We have seen over the last few days that Roma are pushing ahead with a move for Dragusin, who is seemingly set to return to Serie A, two years after he made the move from Genoa to North London.

According to reports, Dragusin is putting his foot down and insisting on leaving Spurs for Roma, having already agreed personal terms with the Giallorossi.

Over the last 24 hours, we have heard that RB Leipzig have expressed an interest in Dragusin, and now it turns out that Roma also have to worry about competition from an Italian rival.

Napoli enter race to sign Radu Dragusin from Tottenham

Journalist Mirko Di Natale has now revealed that Napoli have become the latest club to enter the race for the 23-year-old defender.

Antonio Conte’s men, who are currently sitting fourth in the Serie A table, have enquired about a deal for the Tottenham Hotspur man.

Di Natale says that Roma are still the most advanced in the negotiations, but the talks have hit a roadblock as there is no agreement between the Serie A side and Spurs on the structure of the deal.

The journalist adds that Leipzig are willing to do a permanent deal for Dragusin as opposed to Roma, who want to do a loan deal with an option to buy.

Spurs will not be in a hurry to cash in on Dragusin

Tottenham will be happy for a bidding war to emerge between these three clubs so that they can get a good price for the defender.

Besides, with Kota Takai having been loaned out to Borussia Monchengladbach, Frank is short of options in the heart of his defence at the moment.

The Dane may perhaps want another centre-back brought through the door before greenlighting the Romanian’s sale.
