Mauricio Pochettino could be in the frame to take over at Tottenham Hotspur, with Thomas Frank coming under huge pressure in N17.
Thomas Frank has struggled in his first six months in the Tottenham Hotspur dugout, with his time in N17 summed up perfectly by the lifeless 2-1 defeat to West Ham.
The Dane currently has Spurs just three places above their dismal 17th-place league finish last season, a situation that has left Tottenham fans frustrated as they demand more from the former Brentford man.
The external pressure has only grown, and it has led to talks of Frank being sacked, although some reports claimed that the Dane maintained the backing of the Tottenham board before the West Ham game.

Mauricio Pochettino keen on Tottenham return
Football Insider has now revealed what they know about claims that former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino could be lined up to take over should Frank depart.
It is reported that Pochettino is interested in making a sensational return to Tottenham, although his future is understood to depend largely on whether the United States Men’s National Team enjoy a successful World Cup tournament this summer.
Providing further insight while discussing the situation on his podcast, Pete O’Rourke explained how Pochettino’s international commitments factor into any potential move, saying: “Well, it is an easy link to me because of his links to Tottenham, but yeah, nothing is going to happen right now with Pochettino.
“His full focus is on the World Cup with the host nation, the United States. Who is to know what is going to happen after the summer?
“It all depends on how well the USA do at the finals. If they have a disappointing tournament, you can imagine Mauricio Pochettino could be moved on. And I am sure Pochettino himself, he has never hidden his desire to maybe return to Tottenham.
“He feels he has got unfinished business there. So he would be somebody I am sure the club have continued to keep tabs on if something does happen with Thomas Frank.”
Would a Pochettino return make sense for Spurs?
Since the departure of Pochettino, Spurs have not enjoyed a sustained spell of success, despite their Europa League triumph last season.
Tottenham have yet to appoint a manager who has spent anywhere near as long in the dugout as Pochettino, but given his commitment in the US, Spurs will have to secure an interim manager should they part ways with Frank at the midway point of the season.
Heitinga has been named as Frank’s new assistant and could well fill that interim role as Tottenham continue to assess their managerial options.
Many Spurs fans would welcome the chance to see Pochettino back at the club, given the success enjoyed during his previous spell.
However, any return would ultimately hinge on decisions made at the board level and whether they are willing to cut short Frank’s three-year term.
