Tottenham Hotspur thought they had completed all the formalities for a transfer to be completed on deadline day, only for the other party to pull out after signing the deal sheet.
There was late drama at Tottenham on transfer deadline day, with the Lilywhites landing Randal Kolo Muani on loan in a shock late move.
There was also late activity in terms of outgoings, with Bryan Gil joining Girona in an £8.5m deal in the final hours of the transfer window.
However, the more dramatic move involved Manor Solomon, who sealed a late loan move to Villarreal, but not before his switch to Crystal Palace fell through in strange circumstances.
Crystal Palace signed transfer deal sheet before pulling out of Manor Solomon deal
The Daily Mail have now revealed that the manner in which the Eagles pulled out of the Solomon deal left Spurs livid.
The report explains that after the two clubs struck an agreement over the Israeli winger, Palace and Spurs even signed a ‘deal sheet’, which allows clubs some extra time to complete the formalities of the transfer.
However, despite signing the sheet, the South London club decided to pull out of the transfer in the final moments of the window.
According to the report, Tottenham have suggested to the Premier League that such deal sheets become a binding document, which has to be honoured by clubs.
However, the outlet suggests that Spurs are unlikely to be successful in their quest to make the deal sheet a contract.
Some Tottenham fans do not want their club to do deals with Crystal Palace
The Solomon saga is not the only one in which the Eagles made Tottenham look silly in the summer transfer window.
Spurs thought they had agreed a deal to land Eberechi Eze, only for the final details to be delayed long enough for Arsenal to enter the race and hijack the deal.
On the back of that development, many Tottenham fans have called on Spurs to stop doing deals with Palace and their chairman, Steve Parish.
