The Tudor gamble has blown up in Tottenham’s faces, with the Croat losing four and drawing one of his five Premier League games in charge since replacing Thomas Frank at the helm.

Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest came as a bitter blow to the Lilywhites’ chances of survival, with the club having not won any of their last 13 league matches.

Reports indicate that the Spurs hierarchy views the international break as the perfect time to make a managerial change, and a top contender has now emerged.

The report says that Tottenham have already made contingency plans in the event of the Croat’s departure, with a ‘serious contender’ now emerging.

It is revealed that former Monaco boss Adi Hütter, who is out of work and available, is emerging as a candidate to take over from the 47-year-old.

This comes a few days after journalist Rudy Galetti revealed that Tottenham are gathering information on Hutter as they consider Tudor’s future.

Tottenham were heavily criticised for appointing Tudor, with many pointing to Juventus’ lack of experience in the Premier League as to why it was a gamble.

Those concerns have been proven right, with the former Juventus boss yet to showcase an ability to consistently pick up points in the English top-flight.

The same criticism will be levelled at Hutter, who, despite his impressive CV, will have a steep learning curve in what will be his first taste of Premier League football.

Tottenham only has seven games to save their season, and they may be best served exercising caution and turning to someone like Sean Dyche, who knows what it takes to get out of a relegation battle.
