Tottenham show interest in second West Ham raid of the summer after latest development

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring a move for another West Ham star, but they face competition from two other Premier League clubs.

Spurs have prioritised signing proven Premier League performers this summer, as evidenced by the acquisitions of Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha.

However, having missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White and, more recently, Eberechi Eze, who is now on his way to Arsenal, the Lilywhites do not have too many choices as far as a Premier League-tested number ten is concerned.

Some sources suggested earlier this summer that Lucas Paqueta could become an option for Spurs, and a new report has now confirmed that the North Londoners are indeed turning their attention to the Brazilian.

Tottenham are one of three Premier League clubs interested in Lucas Paqueta

CaughtOffside say that Paqueta is now back in the market after he was cleared of the spot-fixing allegations that had hung over him for nearly a year.

Tottenham Hotspur are now showing an interest in the 27-year-old, with Thomas Frank said to be desperate to add some vision and creativity to his squad.

However, Paqueta’s long-term admirers, Man City, have now revived their interest in the Hammers star, while Crystal Palace are also in the mix, with the Eagles eyeing the Brazil international as a replacement for Eze.

The West Ham star is also wanted by Al-Nassr and Flamengo, but he is not thought to be interested in a return to his home country or a move to the Middle East this summer.

What is West Ham’s stance on Paqueta?

CaughtOffside say that ideally, Graham Potter’s men would like to keep hold of Paqueta, but they will listen to offers for him this summer.

The London club are aware that they risk unsettling the player if they refuse to engage with interested clubs, with an exit from the London Stadium thus increasingly likely for the attacking midfielder.

The outlet states that the Hammers are expected to demand around £30m-£40m for Paqueta, which is a far cry from the £80m they wanted for him last summer.
