According to a report in Defensa Central, Real Madrid are keen on strengthening at centre-back and have identified the Tottenham Hotspur vice-captain as a potential option.
It is said that even though the Dutchman has a contract with Tottenham until 2029, ‘everything could change if Florentino Pérez shows interest in him’ this summer.
In fact, they alleged that Van de Ven is ‘waiting for a call from Real Madrid’ and has no intention of signing a new deal at the North London club.
Spurs offered hope as their Van de Ven fears grow
Defensa Central reveal that fears are growing at Tottenham at the prospect of Real Madrid making a move for their star man.
However, interestingly, the outlet mentions that Van de Ven’s name hasn’t been mentioned among the Santiago Bernabeu hierarchy over recent weeks, although he is a player the La Liga giants considered a few years ago.
The publication makes it clear that, as things stand, Los Blancos’ top target is Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck rather than the Spurs defender.
