UEFA have named their Champions League team of the week for match day four and Tottenham Hotspur supporters will not be pleased with the players excluded.
There were some huge ties in the most recent round of Champions League fixtures and most of the Premier League clubs delivered on the European stage.
Manchester City thrashed Borrusia Dortmund, Liverpool edged past Real Madrid and Arsenal comfortably saw off Slavia Prague. Newcastle also picked up three points, with a victory over Athletic Club, but Chelsea were held to a draw by Qarabag.
Of course, Tottenham Hotspur were also victorious in midweek and won by a greater margin than any of the other English teams. In fact, Spurs won by more goals than every club in the competition on match day four.

Tottenham players snubbed in Champions League team of the week
Despite the excellent performance of Thomas Frank’s team, there is no room for any Spurs players in the Champions League team of the week.
This is truly baffling considering how good Tottenham were, which included playing with just 10 men for the final half-hour of the game.
Even Micky van de Ven has not been omitted from the team, despite the fact he kept a clean sheet and scored a goal worthy of the Puskas award. UEFA even named a back three in their TOTW and still didn’t have room for the Spurs star.
The victory is all that matters to Spurs
The UEFA Technical Observer Group ought to be embarrassed by their failure to select Tottenham’s goalscoring defender in their team of the week.
However, this snub does not take anything away from his special moment last Tuesday night.
What matters is that Spurs secured the victory and are now in 10th place in the league phase table, with just one point separating them from PSG in fifth.
