Tottenham star tipped to make decision on his future once the season starts

Journalist Graeme Bailey has predicted that a Tottenham star, who Thomas Frank praised recently, could leave Spurs in the final weeks or days of the transfer window.

We are now just a week away from Tottenham’s Super Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain, and most Spurs fans will feel that the squad is still in need of multiple additions.

It does not appear as if the Lilywhites are done adding to their forward line this summer, with reports over recent days indicating that Spurs are now turning their attention to Randal Kolo Muani.

If the PSG star or another striker arrives, it remains to be seen what the fate of Richarlison is, with the Brazilian featuring prominently in pre-season so far.

Graeme Bailey makes Richarlison transfer prediction at Tottenham

Thomas Frank has described Richarlison as a ‘good striker’ and has hinted that the former Everton man is expected to stay.

However, Bailey believes that if the Brazilian finds himself out of Tottenham Hotspur’s starting eleven for the first couple of games of the season, he could push to leave N17.

When asked about Richarlison’s future at Spurs, the journalist told TBR Football: “I think there’s huge potential for him still to leave by the end of the window. Richarlison is an interesting one. I was always told, when Frank came in, that Richarlison’s one of those players who needs to see where he stands.

“So next week, when the Premier League starts, I think he’s one of the players we might see a reaction from, depending on whether he’s starting or not.

“I think he believes he’s got a chance of getting in there, and that’s why we haven’t seen him massively pushing for a move. If he’s not in the mix at all, then yeah, I think we could see him leave.

“He’s someone we could be talking about in the last week of the window. But again, could he start for Tottenham? I think there’s every chance. I think he actually suits Thomas Frank in a lot of ways.”

Multiple Brazilian clubs want Richarlison

It has been reported over recent weeks that Palmeiras held talks with Tottenham over a deal for Richarlison. Subsequently, it emerged that Fluminense have also shown a keen interest in re-signing the Tottenham man.

While the speculation over the 28-year-old’s future has gone quiet over the last few weeks, one would imagine that he will not be content to warm the bench leading up to a World Cup year.

With Dominic Solanke’s pre-season injury and a lack of striker signings at Hotspur Way, it does seem like Richarlison may be sticking around until at least January.
