Tottenham star wants to leave the club after controversial Thomas Frank decision this week

Mathys Tel’s Tottenham future continues to be up in the air as we enter the final week and a half of the January transfer window.

It was reported a few days ago that Tottenham had informed Tel they had no plans of loaning him out despite the forward wanting a temporary move in search of regular game time.

The North London club’s decision was understandable, given their issues upfront and the 20-year-old’s improved form over the last month.

However, Thomas Frank made the decision to bring Dominic Solanke back into the Champions League squad in place of Tel, with the decision not going down well within the Frenchman’s camp.

Mathys Tel remains keen on leaving Tottenham this month

It has now emerged, following Frank’s controversial decision, that the former Bayern Munich man wants an exit from N17.

This is according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who revealed that the forward’s transfer stance has not changed.

He explained that Tel remains the ‘dream target’ for Ligue 1 side Paris FC, who are continuing to eye a late move for the Spurs man.

Plettenberg wrote on X: “Mathys Tel remain the absolute dream transfer target for Paris FC until Deadline Day. Tel still wants to leave Tottenham, as revealed. Edin Dzeko is also on the list, but Tel is internally ranked as the clear number one priority.”

Tel generating plenty of transfer interest

It is not just Paris FC who want the Spurs man, with reports indicating that Fenerbahce and Galatasaray also want to sign Tel on loan.

It has been claimed that the Tottenham star is frustrated at not being given an opportunity as a number nine at N17 and wants a loan move to prove he can lead the line.

With Thomas Frank’s days at Spurs potentially being numbered, Tel’s situation at the North London club could soon change. However, after the win over Borussia Dortmund, it seems the Dane will stick around for at least the next week.
