Maghnes Akliouche became one of the most talked-about players as the summer transfer window wrapped up. The French midfielder drew interest from both PSG and Manchester City after an impressive 2024-25 season with AS Monaco.

Back in May, 90min France reported that both clubs had stepped up their pursuit, with Monaco reportedly valuing Akliouche at around €70 million. Pep Guardiola has praised the youngster’s left-footed creativity and versatility, seeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Bernardo Silva.

More recently, The Independent reported that Tottenham view Akliouche as a more budget-friendly alternative to Savinho. Meanwhile, Manchester City reportedly set a £70 million price tag on the midfielder, with Monaco valuing him at £47.5 million.

Akliouche has already marked himself as one of Ligue 1’s brightest talents. Despite heavy interest from top clubs, he stayed at Monaco after the summer window closed, though a transfer could still be on the cards in the future.

TEAMtalk reported Wednesday, citing sources, that Tottenham Hotspur are still monitoring Akliouche. Additionally, the report states that Antoine Semenyo is still the primary target, but Akliouche continues to be considered among the other potential options.

Spurs are especially interested in observing how Akliouche performs against Monaco’s strongest competition this season, having monitored him closely in important matches against Manchester City and Strasbourg.

Akliouche was asked about Spurs’ summer interest. He said: “It was very flattering to have these kind of stories and links, but I am a Monaco player and I am playing against Tottenham tomorrow, so I will give my best.

“In terms of whether I want to play in the Premier League in the future? Why not, but we’ll see. What is important for me is tomorrow’s game.”
