Tottenham’s need for attacking reinforcements has become increasingly urgent this winter, and reports from Spain suggest the club have already put in an offer for a forward with five goals at the Africa Cup of Nations.
We are almost getting to the halfway point of the January transfer window, and Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make any signings.
Thomas Frank’s side, however, continues to be depleted by injuries, with issues hitting the top end of the pitch and significantly reducing his options.
Dominic Solanke made his return after six months in Spurs’ FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa, but that tie also saw Richarlison pick up what appears to be a hamstring problem.

Tottenham submit bid for Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz
Spurs need to bolster their squad, and they need to do that fast, as they run the risk of having yet another disastrous campaign, with Frank’s side currently sitting in 14th place.
Spanish outlet Fichajes now claims that Tottenham are making an effort to strengthen their attacking depth, reporting that the north London club have submitted a £52 million offer for Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz.
The 26-year-old is currently enjoying a stellar campaign at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, while also bringing a wealth of experience from spells at AC Milan, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Diaz is capable of operating on the right, as a number ten or as a striker, making him an ideal option for a Spurs side stretched in forward areas.
Interestingly, most of his game time for Madrid has seen him line up on the right flank, the same wing currently occupied by Mohammed Kudus, who is now injured.
Spurs face competition for Diaz as attacking needs grow
It is claimed that Spurs are not the only club monitoring Diaz, with competition expected from other European sides.
Manchester United could rival Tottenham, having been linked with the forward during the summer window, although no move materialised at that time.
With Spurs in need of reinforcements, it remains to be seen what happens next with the Madrid wide forward, who has managed six goals in all competitions, including five at the Africa Cup of Nations.
