The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust have accused the Premier League broadcasters of not caring about the fans after the schedule of the club’s clash against Wolves was announced.
It is now the period of quiet before the storm due to the international break, with the fixture list soon set to get very hectic for Spurs.
Tottenham begin their Champions League campaign in less than two weeks, which means that they will have a game every three days for the majority of the next few months.
Spurs also kick off their Carabao Cup this month, with Thomas Frank’s squad expected to be put through a serious stress test.
THST are not happy with the scheduling of Tottenham’s clash at Wolves
It has now been confirmed that Spurs will take on Wolves at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 27th September, with kick-off at 8 pm.
The Spurs Supporters Trust are not happy with the scheduling, pointing out that the broadcasters have not considered the travel complications of scheduling the game so late.
They also point out some Spurs fans have to make the trip to the Arctic Circle for an away Champions League against Bodo/Glimt just three days later, accusing the authorities of not caring about the fans.
THST’s statement reads: “Our home fixture with Wolves is now, as many of us feared, to be played at 8 pm on Saturday 27th September.
“The broadcasting companies couldn’t care less about match-going fans travelling the length and breadth of the country, and many from across Europe. Football without fans is nothing.
“It’s also unfair to Tottenham and their fans who have to travel to the Arctic Circle for a CL fixture on the following Tuesday.”

Thomas Frank will have to rotate his squad
Thomas Frank has said that he has a plan to avoid a similar injury crisis to last season, and one would imagine that would involve heavy rotation.
While it is not ideal for Tottenham to play so late on Saturday, three days before they travel to Norway for a Champions League clash, one would expect the Danish coach to potentially make at least three of four changes.
However, Frank will be cognizant of the fact that the quality of the Champions League does not give teams the luxury to rotate as much as they can in the Europa League.
The 51-year-old did not have to deal with this problem at Brentford, and it will thus be very interesting to see what approach he takes.
