Tottenham team confirmed vs Reading as Thomas Frank names first Spurs line-up with new injury

5 hours ago 40

Thomas Frank has named his first Tottenham Hotspur starting XI for the visit to Reading on Saturday in the first friendly of the north London club's summer.

The Dane told the media on Friday that he would select two different Spurs XIs for each half of the contest against their League One hosts with Son Heung-min captaining one side in one half while Cristian Romero would captain the other and he has been true to his word.

It is Romero who starts in the first half as does Mikey Moore and Alfie Devine in an otherwise experienced starting XI. Tottenham's new £55milion signing Mohammed Kudus is on the bench after arriving from West Ham United.

Koto Takai is not involved after getting his work permit this week and Archie Gray, Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert were the latest to return to pre-season training this week following their exploits at the U21 European Championships last month.

Richarlison misses out on the squad although the Brazilian is not believed to be injured, while Manor Solomon has also not been named in the squad after suffering an injury. Luka Vuskovic will be hoping to make his first appearance in a Tottenham shirt after being named on the bench.

Here is the Tottenham team to face Reading: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Danso, Udogie, Bentancur, Sarr, Devine, Johnson, Solanke, Moore. Subs: Kinsky, Austin, Davies, Vuskovic, Phillips, Van de Ven, Spence, Abbott, Bissouma, Bergvall, Donley, Son, Lankshear, Yang, Kudus.
