Tottenham Hotspur could look to replace Guglielmo Vicario this summer with a Premier League goalkeeper who has visibly improved since the start of last season, according to a former Spurs scout.
The goalkeeper position at Tottenham Hotspur has been a talking point for some time due to the shaky performances of Guglielmo Vicario.
According to reports, Vicario is open to joining Inter, and it has emerged more recently that Juventus have made the Tottenham shot-stopper a top transfer target ahead of the summer.
James Trafford’s name has frequently been mentioned as a potential replacement for Spurs, but he would prefer a move to Aston Villa.
This has caused the North London club to reconsider their options, which has led to Tottenham showing interest in Robin Roefs, who plays for Sunderland.

Tottenham have been impressed by Dean Henderson
According to Football Insider, Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson is another goalkeeper who has captured the interest of Spurs.
The 28-year-old has emerged on Tottenham’s list of transfer targets due to his impressive performances since the start of last season.
Former Spurs scout Mick Brown said: “Tottenham are looking at a few new goalkeepers.
“If they can come to an agreement to sell Vicario in the summer, they’re going to need to bring in a replacement for him and somebody who will improve their side.
“The Crystal Palace goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, is somebody I hear Tottenham have been impressed by.
“Since the start of last season, he’s really upped his game for Palace and has become a crucial part of the success he’s had, he’s become a really top-class goalkeeper.
“He’s an England international as well which will always appeal to a side like Tottenham.”
However, Crystal Palace are not keen on selling Henderson, especially considering the fact the club have lost other important players in the past couple of years.
“From a Palace point of view, they’re not going to let him go easily because they’ve got other issues they have to deal with without having to replace their goalkeeper,” Brown continued.
“He’s a crucial player for them, he’s the captain now after Guehi has left, so it won’t be easy for Tottenham if they want to make a move for him.”
Spurs could allow Vicario to leave this summer
In the past, it seemed impossible that Tottenham would wrap up a deal for a big-name goalkeeper because they already had Vicario as a clear first choice.
However, with the Italian exploring the possibility of a summer exit back to his home country, Spurs could well look to sign someone like Henderson. They may even be able to make a profit on the Italian.
The Englishman played an important role in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup triumph last season and he could be open to a move with Oliver Glasner departing this summer.
