Tottenham Hotspur are one of several English clubs eyeing a move for a former Premier League midfielder who is turning a lot of heads in Germany.
Xavi Simons is now starting to live up to his billing at Tottenham after a difficult start to life in England, while the Lilywhites also have the injured trio, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall, who can play as the number ten.
Despite this, it has emerged over recent weeks that Spurs could spend big on bringing another attacking midfielder through the door in the summer.
The Lilywhites have reportedly turned their attention to a 21-year-old, who is turning a lot of heads with his performances out on loan.

Tottenham eyeing move for Bilal El Khannouss
Bilal El Khannouss has thrived in Germany since his loan move from Leicester City to Stuttgart last summer, with the youngster having eight goals and six assists to his name across all competitions so far.
The Moroccan’s performances in the Bundesliga and the Europa League this term have reportedly caught the attention of Tottenham, according to SportsBoom, but there is one complication.
Stuttgart have a €20m (£17.4m) purchase option for El Khannouss this summer, which they are expected to take up.
However, with Spurs keen to sign him, the young attacker could face some ‘tough choices’ at the end of the season.
Spurs battling three other Premier League sides for El Khannouss
Tottenham are not the only English side tracking the midfielder, who is also on the radar of Leeds United, who were keen to take him to Elland Road last summer as well.
The report says that Crystal Palace also showed interest in El Khannouss last summer, and they continue to admire the player.
Finally, Newcastle United have become the most recent club to enter the race for the Moroccan, with the Magpies viewing him as a potential ‘bargain’ signing.
