Mauricio Pochettino has long been linked with the managerial position at Tottenham Hotspur, but the club could encounter a problem in getting him to depart his current role.
Tottenham Hotspur supporters have dreamed about what it would be like to have Mauricio Pochettino back at the club.
From playing good football, to actually being able to compete in the Premier League, the opportunities with a proven manager in the hotseat seem endless.
However, it was recently revealed that Spurs have not even made contact with Pochettino, raising doubts over whether his North London return will materialise.

Tottenham could struggle to persuade Mauricio Pochettino to leave the US
Pochettino’s current contract with the US national team expires after the World Cup, so his move back to Tottenham feels like fate.
Despite this, Spurs could face a problem getting their former boss not to extend his stay in the US because of a potential backlash from none other than President Trump.
Journalist Henry Winter told GIVEMESPORT’s Market Madness podcast: “I’m sure it is their Plan A [for Tottenham to appoint Pochettino], but it’s also Plan USA.
“And any hint of interest in Mauricio Pochettino, even if it’s just a puff of smoke from Tottenham High Road and a letter on a postcard to California, I think that would just cause chaos in America as we’ve seen with coaches who are approached by clubs before.
“Bobby Robson going into 1990 knowing he was at a club at the end of it was called a traitor. He (Pochettino) would definitely get that in America, you would have [president Donald] Trump talking about it!”
“The fans would love Pochettino,” Winter added. “But I think they’ve got to sort out a lot of other things first.
“Recruitment, whether it be paying more in wages and maybe they’re going to loosen the purse strings, the Lewis family in the summer as we’re expecting, but it’s about characters, it’s about leaders.”
Pochettino will not let anything stand in the way of his Spurs return
Pochettino has been clear in the past about wanting to come back to Tottenham one day and win a trophy.
If this is still the Argentine’s desire, he will not allow anything to stop him from fulfilling his dream. With a contract which expires later this year, the ball is in his court on whether he chooses to leave the US.
It will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds, but right now, everything seems to have fallen into place for Pochettino to come back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
