Despite a summer filled with transfer rumors, Real Madrid forward Rodrygo remained at the club. The Brazilian had been linked to PSG, but no deal materialized.
Reports about PSG’s interest in Rodrygo have been inconsistent. Foot Mercato journalist Josué Cassé said he wasn’t on PSG’s shortlist, while Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg suggested PSG and Liverpool were monitoring him, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly out of the picture.
A move to PSG could still be possible later, depending largely on how Rodrygo’s role at Real Madrid develops this season.
Additionally, TEAMtalk reported that Tottenham now view Rodrygo as a top attacking target. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, he is eager to test himself in the Premier League and secure regular playing time.
Real Madrid could also use interest in Micky van de Ven as leverage in any potential negotiations.
Could Rodrygo Be Sold Next Summer?

According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham are planning a move for Rodrygo, targeting a fee of around €80 million. The Brazilian has had limited minutes under Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid.
The deal is likely to be pursued closer to June 2026, as the Spanish club have no plans to let him leave in January. ESPN Brasil previously revealed that Rodrygo is frustrated with his limited role at Real Madrid this season and is now seriously considering a move in January. So far, he’s featured in just 24 percent of the team’s minutes under Xabi Alonso.

Recently, TBR Football noted that Arsenal and Tottenham were informed that Rodrygo is once again evaluating his future at Real Madrid.
Despite speculation over a summer transfer, Real Madrid persuaded him to remain at the club. However, concerns over playing time have proven valid, as Xabi Alonso frequently prefers Franco Mastantuono and Arda Guler over him.
“Rodrygo’s situation has not improved this season,” TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, said. “As we reported in the summer, Xabi Alonso always planned on making Arda Guler one of his key figures, and that has played out as expected.
“With teen starlet Franco Mastantuono also getting regular game time, there is little sign of how Rodrygo can find a route back into the lineup. I am told that Rodrygo is again considering his options, and one possibility is a switch to the Premier League, which could become a real option in January. He is certainly one to watch as we approach the New Year.”
