Travel chaos hits Man City supporters just hours before Carabao Cup final

1 hour ago 40

Manchester City fans heading to Wembley Stadium for the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal have been dealt major travel disruption following a crash on the M1.

City face the Gunners in north London at 4:30pm this afternoon but supporters making their way southbound down the M1 have been hit with gridlocked traffic after a crash 1.9 miles from the Wembley turn-off.

According to the Daily Mail, the crash has been described as a 'pile-up' with cars at a standstill and it's preventing some City fans from turning off Junction 1 and joining the A406 North Circular to the stadium.

It's unknown, at this stage, how long the disruption is going to last with City fans keen to get to Wembley in enough time before kick-off.

As for the game itself, City are hoping to claim the first piece of major silverware this season with Pep Guardiola winning the competition on four previous occasions before.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "I have the feeling in many things we’re just underneath [our peak]. We will flourish, I have the feeling that it’s close. Other things we need a little more time until the people realise what we need to be strong in many departments but in most things we are close."
