One of Trent Alexander-Arnold's brothers, who is a streamer, laid into Paddy Pimblett over comments the UFC fighter made about the Real Madrid star.

Alexander-Arnold has copped plenty of flak since deciding to quit Liverpool to join Real Madrid last year, and famous Reds fan Pimblett has been particularly outspoken with his criticism of the 27-year-old. Pimblett previously called Alexander-Arnold a "rat" and a "lizard", while on a recent appearance on sports game show A League of Their Own, Pimblett reveled in Alexander-Arnold's tough start to his Real Madrid career.

"He betrayed his boyhood club who did everything for him: made his life what it is today, and he's went to Real Madrid thinking he's going to be the next David Beckham," Pimblett said. "And now he's warming the bench up for Carvajal. It's poetic justice at its finest."

Alexander-Arnold's brother Marcel responded to the clip, saying: "Paddy you got banged by a 37-year-old. That's poetic justice.

"You were warming Justin Gaethje's gloves up with your face, that's poetic justice. You tried to box with a boxer and then got banged. That's poetic justice – simple as that.

"Come back when you've won a championship belt. We all know you're not getting past Ilia, you didn't get past Justin Gaethje and you won't get past Arman. So when you've got a championship belt, you can talk like this."

Pimblett fought Justin Gaethje at UFC 324 last weekend and lost by a unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold has struggled during his debut campaign at Real Madrid, having been unable to establish himself as a regular starter whilst battling fitness problems.

Alexander-Arnold has featured in just 16 matches for Real, who spent £10million ($13.6 million) to secure him ahead of last summer's Club World Cup. Alexander-Arnold sustained a hamstring injury in September and faced another muscle setback last month.

Due to his fitness concerns, Alexander-Arnold has featured just once for the England national team under Thomas Tuchel and faces uncertainty over his World Cup squad inclusion.
