Former Liverpool star Glen Johnson says he would "love" to see Trent Alexander-Arnold make a return to Anfield amid the player coming under scrutiny for his performances at Real Madrid.
There is no suggestion whatsoever that Alexander-Arnold would be looking for a way out of Real Madrid at this stage, just a few months after he made the switch. However, the full-back was given a 3/10 rating in the Spanish media earlier this week.
Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid struggled at home to Getafe CF, losing 1-0 at the Bernabeu. Los Blancos are now four points behind Barcelona in the La Liga title race.

They said his passing was "immediately noticeable" but "in almost every other aspect, he was invisible".
"Who would be my choice to be Liverpool’s starting right-back next season? Of course, you'd love to see Trent back, of course you would," Johnson told Boyle Sports.
"But in terms of the future of Liverpool, I think as long as he comes back fit, Conor Bradley for me, as long as he can recover from that injury, then I think you've got a fantastic right-back there.

"Bradley looks more athletic, stronger, with more desire to defend, but keen to get forward in attacks as well. So I think, like you said, all round he would be the man for me.
"But then again, against certain teams that are going to sit back and need to be broken down, then Jeremie Frimpong could be the answer for certain home games and things like that, you know."
Bradley is set to miss the remainder of the campaign with a serious injury. Frimpong, meanwhile, made his comeback from another muscle issue at the weekend, where he forced an own-goal and looked sharp.
Joe Gomez was solid against West Ham last time out but Arne Slot will be careful with his fitness. Gomez is another who has spent time on the treatment table this season.

Alexander-Arnold will be coming back to England in the Champions League with Real Madrid. The Spanish giant has been drawn to face Manchester City next in Europe.
Real Madrid is on the same side of the draw as Liverpool and so there could be another reunion on the cards if both teams make the semi-finals. The Reds take on Galatasaray next and then could face either Chelsea or PSG in the quarters.
Liverpool.com says: Real Madrid isn't playing particularly well at the moment and has already changed its manager since Alexander-Arnold arrived. The smart money is on him coming good, though, given his world-class level.
