Calvin Ramsay is ineligible to play against Marseille in the Champions League after being left out of Liverpool''s Champions League squad, which was named at the beginning of the season.
Clubs were permitted to name 25-player squads, including a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players, on their A List – as well as an unlimited number of players on their B List, as long as those players were born after 1 Jan. 2004.
Having been born in 2003, Ramsay was too old to be included on Liverpool's B List. He also does not meet the criteria as a homegrown player.
All of the spots for the non-homegrown players in Liverpool's squad were taken up by established senior players – as well as Rio Ngumoha – with only Federico Chiesa missing out.

UEFA rules permit clubs to amend their squads in the event of a player suffering a long-term injury – but this is only allowed to happen with a single player once per season, which means Liverpool does not have the opportunity to introduce Ramsay to the squad, despite Conor Bradley being ruled out for the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konate missed training on the eve of Liverpool's game against Marseille due to personal reasons.
Konate was not spotted at an open training session at the AXA Training Center on Tuesday, and Liverpool.com understands he is currently in France to tend to a personal matter.

Konate's Liverpool teammates were scheduled to fly to France on Tuesday afternoon, and it is unclear at this point whether Konate will link up with them in Marseille in time to feature in Wednesday's game.
Slot is due to speak at a press conference in Marseille at 6:40 p.m. GMT (1:40 p.m. ET) on Tuesday, when he may give an update on whether Konate is expected to be involved.
Liverpool currently finds itself short on options in the center of its defense, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez the only senior center-backs involved in Tuesday's training session.
Liverpool confirmed the following 20 players were included in the traveling party to Marseille: Alisson, Joe Gomez, Wataru Endo, Virgil van Dijk, Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis MacAllister, Mohamed Salah, Federico Chiesa, Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo, Hugo Ekitike, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Andy Robertson, Freddie Woodman, Jeremie Frimpong, Ryan Gravenberch, Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha.
