The Vancouver Whitecaps will play San Diego FC in California Saturday in Major League Soccer's Western Conference final.
Soccer fans will receive a refund for tickets they bought for a potential MLS playoff game at B.C. Place after San Diego FC defeated the Minnesota Loons 1-0 Monday night in the conference semifinals.
The Whitecaps won their conference semifinal last weekend in penalty shootouts against Los Angeles FC in front of 54,000 fans at B.C. Place.
That advanced the team to the Western Conference final against either San Diego or Minnesota, depending on the outcome of that Monday match.
San Diego was the best team in the West during the regular season, while the Loons were fourth-best.

Last Sunday, tickets went on sale at B.C. Place for a potential game against Minnesota, which Vancouver would have hosted because their regular-season record was better.
Now though, San Diego will host Vancouver on Saturday, with a 6 p.m. PT kickoff.
The winner will advance to the Dec. 6 MLS championship.
It will be against either Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami CF or New York City FC. Those two teams play against each other in the Eastern Conference final, also Saturday.
If Vancouver wins its match against San Diego, it will host New York in the final or travel to Miami, depending on the outcome of that match.
In an email to ticket holders, Ticketmaster said it would refund purchases made for the potential Saturday game in Vancouver through the original payment method.
It said no action is required to obtain the refund.
