'Very powerful' Liverpool transfer target tipped for Real Madrid move

Bournemouth's star player, Antoine Semenyo, has been tipped for a potential move to Real Madrid if he continues his current form, according to former Premier League striker Troy Deeney.

Semenyo, who has scored six goals and provided three assists in nine Premier League matches this season, has been instrumental in Bournemouth's strong start, which sees the team currently sitting second in the table - well ahead of struggling Liverpool in seventh.

Despite receiving multiple offers for Semenyo during the summer transfer window, Bournemouth held onto its star player while allowing Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen, and Ilya Zabarnyi to depart for Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively.

The Ghana international was linked with a move to Manchester United, Tottenham, and Liverpool over the summer, with reports suggesting that Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim even met with the player for dinner at the end of last season.

There are also rumors that Liverpool could make a bid for Semenyo as early as January.

However, Deeney believes that a move outside of the Premier League could still be on the cards for one of the division's top performers.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Deeney said: "I just don't know if Semenyo can keep it up - do you know what I mean?

"If he does, then my God - he'll probably end up playing for Real Madrid.

"But I think he's very good, very powerful, very direct. I just don't know whether he'll keep it up."

Semenyo inked a fresh five-year deal with Bournemouth in July. It's rumored that there's a release clause within the contract, but no one has met the Cherries' valuation to date, believed to be around $100 million.

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has dismissed any speculation about Semenyo's possible departure.

When questioned about a release clause, the Spaniard remained tight-lipped.

"I don't know anything about the contracts of the players. I don't know how much they earn and don't want to know either," he stated.

"The most important thing for me is that he continues playing well. If he does, there will be more noise, but it's something we take if he's playing well. My concern is to keep him in the spot where he's playing well."
