Mason Melia has once again showcased his quality ahead of his move to Tottenham in January, with the forward netting a brilliant goal and setting up another as St Patrick’s Athletic played out a draw against Derry City FC.
Spurs signed Mason Melia from St Patrick’s Athletic for £1.6m plus add-ons back in February, which is a record transfer fee for a player signed from the League of Ireland.
Despite being just 17 years old, the centre-forward has been playing regularly for the Irish club for the last two seasons, and he will link up with the Tottenham squad in January after he turns 18.
Melia has also made his mark in the Europa Conference League this term, and the forward has been on fire domestically, with 10 goals and four assists in 28 league appearances this season.

The St Pat’s starlet has once again shown why he is considered to be one of the best young talents to come out of Irish football in a while.
He netted the opener for his side away at Derry FC with a brilliant run and finish in the first half, before showing impressive composure to set up a second goal in the second half.

However, his contribution was not enough to guide St Pat’s to a win, with Derry City hitting back with goals in the 74th and the 85th minute to salvage a point.
Tottenham fans will be eagerly awaiting Mason Melia’s arrival
According to reports, Spurs had to fend off interest from around 60 clubs across Europe to secure Melia’s services, and it looks like the Lilywhites have a gem on their hands.
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Josh Keeley is confident that his compatriot Melia will thrive at Spurs.
However, the step up from the League of Ireland to the English top-flight is a formidable one, and the striker will likely be loaned out by Tottenham Hotspur after he arrives so that he can continue getting regular football under his belt.
