A video shared by Spurs content creator, Chris Cowlin, shows that work has now begun on installing the Bill Nicholson Gates at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was announced earlier this month that, after discussions with the Fan Advisory Board (FAB), Tottenham have decided to reinstate the Bill Nicholson gates at the new stadium.

The famous black gates at the entrance to White Hart Lane are forever linked with the legendary Nicholson after this famous photograph in the 1960s.

Tottenham confirmed last week that work has begun on reinstalling the Bill Nicholson gates and that they will be in place before the club’s first Premier League game of the season against Burnley.

Where are the Bill Nicholson gates at the Tottenham stadium?

In their update, Tottenham Hotspur revealed that the gates will be placed between the ticket office and the historic buildings to the north of the stadium.

We have now received visual confirmation of the exact location, courtesy of Chris Colwing, who shared a video of the work underway near the ticket office.

The video shows that the installation work on the gates is already complete, with only minor furnishing work left before they are revealed to the public for the new season.

How did Tottenham settle on this location?

Some Spurs fans on social media feel that the new location is far from ideal and that the gates deserve to be at the front and centre of the stadium.

However, in their announcement last week, Tottenham insisted that they had given the location a lot of thought and consulted all stakeholders, including the Fan Advisory Board, before deciding on its final location.

The club said: “We have taken our time in finding the most appropriate location to reinstate the gates within the new stadium environs – mindful of the significant levels of construction and change the area has seen over the past decade.

“Working in close consultation with our Fan Advisory Board (FAB), we have identified a location within PAXTON17, between the Ticket Office and historic buildings at the north of the stadium, at which the gates will be reinstated.”
