Virgil van Dijk gave a one-word answer when he was asked whether he is concerned by how Liverpool has defended since the start of the season.
For the fourth time in six games this term, Liverpool conceded two goals, as Atletico Madrid nearly snatched a point at Anfield.
Marcos Llorente — just as he did in 2020 — scored twice for Atletico, leveling the scores after Liverpool had taken an early two-goal lead through strikes from Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah.
But Van Dijk popped up with another late winner for the Reds, before making it clear that he is not worried about how many goals the team has shipped so far this term.
Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Newcastle also each managed to breach Liverpool's defense twice in the opening weeks of season, but Van Dijk simply said "no" when asked whether he was concerned.
The interviewer waited a couple of seconds, clearly expecting Van Dijk to expand on his blunt answer, but the Liverpool captain had nothing more to say, and the next question was moved onto.
Van Dijk praised Atletico's quality but was pleased with his team's resilience as the Reds made a winning start to their Champions League campaign.
"We try, we kept pushing for the 3-1," Van Dijk said. "We concede the equaliser, massively deflected. It was not great. We found a way again. We were dangerous in our set-pieces anyway, they were pretty aggressive I must say. I'm glad I got the winner.
"They're a team that never gives up, they have quality players that can punish you if you're not there in a split second, if you're a little bit too late and they punished us before the break and after the break we try to go for the 3-1.
"They get a bit of confidence from that as well. But we have to keep going and show the resilience we've been showing for many years and it was another great European night here again."
Asked whether his Liverpool teammates always believe that they will find a way to win, Dutch defender Van Dijk answered: "I think we showed many times that we are capable of doing it. Today I was the lucky one with the winner and we move on."
