The Arsenal supporters were already excited by the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres in a £63.7million deal. But having seen him in training, they will be just a little bit more excited now.
Gyokeres ended what felt like months of speculation around his future by signing a five-year deal with the Gunners on Saturday to become their new star striker.
The Swede was introduced to the Arsenal supporters ahead of their pre-season game with Newcastle United in Singapore on Sunday, getting a rapturous reception from the fans inside the National Stadium.
Speaking after joining the club, Gyokeres said: "I just felt that it was the right club for me. What I heard from Mikel [Arteta] and Andrea [Berta] when I was speaking with them, and just what I've seen in the past years, how they've been playing football. When I was playing against Arsenal last season, I could really feel it was a very strong team and very difficult to play against.
"That made me choose Arsenal, and of course, all the history the club has and the massive fanbase. It's been amazing to see all the support that they have already given me before I even arrived. That's what it's all about. It's going to be very nice to see them in the stadiums as well.
"I always want to score. To be a part of this club and to score in this kit and with this badge in front of all the supporters, I can't wait. It will be an amazing feeling."
He has since been training with his new teammates and is likely to make his debut in the first-ever North London Derby, which will take place outside of London, against Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong on Thursday afternoon.
football.london are out on the tour of Asia and got to see Gyokeres up close and personal as he took part in open training ahead of the game against Spurs. And there was one moment that made the stadium gasp and then break out into tumults of applause and cheering.
