West Ham could inadvertently hand Tottenham some cash in the January window

West Ham United and Wolves are both interested in signing a former Tottenham player when the transfer window reopens in January.

Tottenham Hotspur do not have a shortage of players at the centre of their attack, but Thomas Frank might feel he needs more quality in the position.

It has not been an unfamiliar sight this season for Spurs to struggle in front of goal. In fact, central defender Micky van de Ven leads the way for goals scored across all competitions.

With January fast approaching, Tottenham could look to sign another striker, and there is one name doing the rounds that many of the club’s supporters would like to see signed.

Tottenham still have a Troy Parrott sell-on clause

Troy Parrott is the player who is being raved about all across Europe. The striker delivered two special performances against Portugal and Hungary for the Republic of Ireland, and Spurs still have a sell-on clause for Parrott.

Football Insider report that Parrott is drawing interest from clubs across the Premier League, which includes London rivals West Ham and Wolves.

Former Manchester United and Sunderland Chief Scout Mick Brown said: “A number of Premier League clubs are looking at Troy Parrott.

“Not just because he scored a hat-trick in that massive win for Ireland, but he’s been playing at a high level for his club on a more regular basis this season.

“When somebody’s playing at a high level and scoring regularly, these clubs have got to be having a look at them and sending their scouts to go and watch.

“We’ve spoken about numerous clubs in the Premier League who are in need of a striker.

“This is somebody who is playing in Europe, seems to be at the top of his game, scores goals for club and country, so they’d be stupid not to have a look.

“Especially playing in the Dutch league, I know most of the clubs if not all of them in England are keeping an eye on what’s going on over there.

“So yeah, I would be very surprised if they weren’t aware of how he’s been playing.”

Could Parrott make a return to Spurs instead?

Tottenham might have a host of strikers at this point in time, but Randal Kolo Muani was signed on a straight loan deal with no option to buy.

Then there is Richarlison, whose contract expires in 2027, so there is a possibility he will be sold next summer so the club can avoid losing him on a free transfer.

With these spaces opening up, there will be enough room for Parrott, who, based on his current form, might just walk straight into the Spurs first team.
