Geovany Quenda has spent the last couple of months using Chelsea's training facilities in Cobham as the soon-to-be Blues winger recovers from a serious foot injury
Geovany Quenda is set to return to Portugal by the end of this week as he nears his return to action after three months out with injury.
The 18-year-old, who will become a Chelsea player officially in the summer after a £40million deal was agreed with Sporting CP last year, suffered a fifth metatarsal fracture back in December and underwent surgery on the problem. Quenda has been using the training facilities at Chelsea's base in Cobham over the past couple of months, in collaboration with Sporting, to recover from the injury but the winger has also been sorting out his housing situation for next season.
The Portugal Under-21 international has also been taking regular English lessons and sources tell football.london his understanding of the language has improved enormously. Quenda has spoken to Liam Rosenior briefly with the Chelsea head coach sharing a few encouraging words with the soon-to-be Blues winger.

Quenda has enjoyed his time in the UK but is now switching his attention back to finishing the season strongly with Sporting. The youngster is set to fly back to Portugal later this week, with his recovery from the serious injury taking perhaps a tad longer than initially expected, as he sets his sight on winning the league with Sporting.
With 10 matches of the season left to play, Sporting find themselves four points adrift of leaders Porto in the race for the title. Quenda still dreams of a place in the Portugal squad for the World Cup in the summer, though has already planned his post-season plans in case he is not selected by Roberto Martinez.
If that is the case, Quenda plans to undertake specific individual training so when he arrives at Cobham, he will be in the best condition possible ahead of a big season for the youngster. As reported previously, Quenda is set to be part of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge in the 2026/27 season.
