Florian Wirtz might be yet to score or assist for Liverpool, but the player has shown a few glimpses of what he can offer since his $157 million (£116 million) transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
Brought in as an extra creative weapon in Arne Slot's team, Wirtz is still getting up to speed with his new club. He is also working alongside Alexander Isak, who is lacking match fitness, and Mohamed Salah, who isn't in form, at the moment, but that won't last forever.
Wirtz is determined to ensure he is a success at Anfield as quickly as possible and the player is said to be doing extra work on the training field in order to reach peak form as soon as he can.
The German outlet BILD reports that Wirtz is doing extra training sessions to get himself up to speed while he is away with Germany for the international break.
It says the 22-year-old did some additional finishing work on the grass and then headed inside for more work in the weights room. Wirtz himself admitted recently that he needs to be fitter and stronger in the Premier League.
"The boy is hard-working, shows energy on and off the pitch," left-back David Raum said.
"He was one of the players on the pitch the longest again today. We believe in the boy, and we’re building him up here. But he knows what he’s capable of."
There has been plenty of discussion about Wirtz this week in Germany.
Last month, Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Wirtz would have been better off signing for the Bundesliga giant rather than moving to England.
"From a club representative’s perspective, I can understand the statement about one of Germany’s best players if he didn’t join his own club and we shed a tear for him," DFB managing director Andreas Rettig responded.

"One thing is clear: Florian will prevail at Liverpool; there’s no debate about that. With a player of his quality, no one can seriously say he won’t prevail."
Germany will play Northern Ireland and Luxembourg this week, and Wirtz scored against the former in the last international break. Liverpool returns to action in 11 days against Manchester United.
Liverpool.com says: Wirtz is going to be a good player for Liverpool, and anyone judging him too harshly at this moment in time is premature. It was always likely to take a bit of time for the new-look team to gel under Arne Slot.
