What Moises Caicedo has done after Enzo Fernandez transfer bombshell speaks volumes for Chelsea

Moises Caicedo has been talking about his future at Chelsea just days after his Blues teammate Enzo Fernandez hinted he could leave the club in the summer transfer window

Moises Caicedo wants to "be a legend" at Chelsea as he clarified he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future - just days after Enzo Fernandez hinted he could leave.

In the immediate aftermath of the Blues' Champions League last-16 second leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, Fernandez refused to add any certainty over his future, with rumours of Real Madrid being interested in the Argentine. When asked by ESPN Argentina about his future, Fernandez said: "I don't know, there are eight games left and the FA Cup. There's the World Cup and then we'll see."

Caicedo, though, has given more reassurance over his future, stating that he wants to become one of the club's all-time greats. Speaking to El Chiringuito TV, Caicedo said: "I'm focused on my club right now. I have a contract with my club, and I want to do well.

"I want to be a legend, God willing. And well, that's all for now."

If Chelsea are to miss out on the Champions League this season, it will put a few of their key players' futures in doubt. Fernandez being one of them and Caicedo another, though head coach Liam Rosenior said last week that he does not expect it to have too much of an impact in that regard.

Rosenior said: "One of the things, the way that we manage as a staff, not just myself, but my assistants, in two and a half months... I have a very, very good relationship with the players because we speak all the time. Not just about football, or the situation with their contracts, but about their life, with their kids, how their kids are, how school is.

"I have a very, very close relationship with Enzo [Fernandez] and with the other players. In terms of contracts and where they want to be, there's not one player at this club since I've been here that has said that he doesn't want to be here in the summer. In fact, the conversations are more about how we improve, what we can do as a group to improve, what we need to do to win at this moment."

Pressed on whether they all wanted to stay, Rosenior said: "They love it here."
