Tottenham have opened fresh talks with Crystal Palace over a deal for Eberechi Eze.
The Crystal Palace star has been linked with an exit from Selhurst Park this summer, with Spurs and north London rivals Arsenal both keen on the player. According to Paul O Keefe, Tottenham have made contact with the Eagles over a possible move and talks have taken place.
Since making the move to Palace from QPR in 2020, Eze has established himself as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League. Capable of playing centrally or on the left, the 27-year-old scored 14 goals in 43 appearances last season and also contributed with 11 assists.
It's believed any deal is likely to cost Tottenham around £67.5million, with Palace wanting around £35million up front in any deal, football.london reported a couple of weeks ago. Tottenham are also in talks with Manchester City over a deal for Savinho and it's unclear at this stage if both players would be signed by the club this summer.

With Son Heung-min leaving the club to join LAFC, and the long-term injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, Thomas Frank is keen to bring in a new No.10 and Eze would certainly add additional quality to the Spurs forward line. The summer transfer window closes on September 1 and the Lilywhites will want to wrap up any deal fairly quickly, especially with the Premier League season starting this weekend.
As is always the case in the Premier League, clubs must register a new player before midday on the last working day before they play a match to be eligible to feature. In Tottenham's case, that would be midday on Friday for a new signing to be available to play against Burnley on Saturday.
The Premier League Handbook states: "Subject to the provisions of Rule V.1, the deadline for receipt by the Board of all duly completed documents required by these Rules to effect the registration of a Player shall be 12 noon on the last Working Day before the date of the first League Match in which the Club making the application intends him to play, save that the international transfer certificate and evidence of eligibility to take up employment in the United Kingdom (in both cases if applicable) may be provided thereafter (but must be provided before the Player is eligible to play for a Club in a League Match)."
So, Tottenham have until 12pm on Friday to register Eze in time so he can face Burnley at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend. It's very much possible, but of course a lot depends on if the two clubs can agree a fee in the next few days.
