When is Liverpool's next game as plans for preseason tour of Asia take shape

Liverpool kicked off its pre-season schedule with a 3-1 victory over Preston last weekend, after the two clubs took the decision to press on with the friendly, just 10 days on from the death of Diogo Jota.

In some ways, the game acted as a welcome distraction for Liverpool's players and supporters amid a period of mourning in the soccer world.

Jota was honored throughout the afternoon at Deepdale, as both clubs showed their class in remembering the late Liverpool forward, who died alongside his brother in a car crash in Spain on July 3.

We are currently in the midst of a 13-day gap between pre-season games for Liverpool, with the Reds not back in action until July 26, when AC Milan is the opponent in a friendly in Hong Kong.

Four days later, Arne Slot's men will take on Yokohama FM at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Japan, before the Reds round off their pre-season schedule with back-to-back friendlies against Athletic Club at Anfield on August 4.

The first friendly will kick off at 12 p.m. ET before the second gets underway at 3 p.m. ET.

Liverpool will then face FA Cup winner Crystal Palace in the Community Shield on August 10.

That game, England's version of a soccer super cup, will start at 10 a.m. ET.

  • Liverpool vs. AC Milan (Kai Tak Stadium, Hong Kong) — July 26, 7:30 a.m. ET kick-off
  • Liverpool vs. Yokohama FM (Nissan Stadium, Japan) — July 30, 6:30 a.m. ET kick-off
  • Liverpool vs. Athletic Club (Anfield, UK) — August 4, 12 p.m. ET kick-off
  • Liverpool vs. Athletic Club (Anfield, UK) — August 4, 3 p.m. ET kick-off

It is not clear whether Liverpool will have any new faces — besides the ones the club has already signed — in time for the game against Milan.

It sounds as though Hugo Ekitike is edging toward a big-money move to Anfield, after the Reds quickly switched their attention from the seemingly unattainable Alexander Isak to Frankfurt's star striker.

Liverpool has reached an agreement with Ekitike over a move to Anfield, and it is now down to the two clubs to come to an agreement over a fee.

Liverpool's proposed package to sign the 23-year-old is in excess of €80million ($92.7m).

As per Sport Bild earlier this week, Ekitike is prepared to push for the move to Liverpool and has taken the initiative, submitting a transfer request to the Bundesliga club.

The addition of Ekitike will push Liverpool's expenditure to well over $300 million since its Premier League title victory
