The Champions League is set to return for the 2025/26 season, with six English teams in the competition.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Manchester City, champions Liverpool and Newcastle United will all feature in the league phase - which will consist of 36 teams. Each club will play eight matches, with the teams divided into four pots of eight based on their UEFA coefficient ranking.

Teams can't be drawn against clubs from their own country - and may face no more than two sides from the same nation. As a result, the English teams will avoid meeting each other during the league phase.

When will the Champions League draw take place?

The draw will take place on Thursday, August 28 at 6pm at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
