The third round of this season's FA Cup has not thrown up loads of shocks – but it has perhaps thrown up the biggest shock of all time.

Wrexham surprised Nottingham Forest on Friday night, but the size of that upset paled in comparison to Macclesfield – of the National League North – eliminating holder Crystal Palace.

Liverpool will hope to avoid adding its name to the list of upsets when it welcomes Barnsley to Anfield on Monday in the penultimate tie of the round.

The only other third-round game yet to take place sees Salford City face Swindon Town, and that game will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Liverpool team news Vs. Barnsley

Liverpool was dealt a major injury blow last week as Conor Bradley went down with a knee issue against Arsenal, and he is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering significant bone and ligament damage

Alexander Isak remains sidelined with the leg fracture he sustained in December, while Mohamed Salah remains at the Africa Cup of Nations after scoring in Egypt's 3-2 victory over Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals to set up a last-four meeting with Sadio Mane's Senegal.

Slot is hopeful that Hugo Ekitike will be fit after missing the last two games but could offer no guarantees over the Frenchman's availability, while the Reds remain without long-term absentees Giovanni Leoni and Wataru Endo – although the latter's return to training is imminent.
