Liverpool fans won't have long to wait for the fixtures to be released once the Reds find out its opponents for the 2025/26 Champions League campaign.

Liverpool is among a record six Premier League clubs competing in UEFA’s top club competition this season, up from the usual four thanks to the strong performances of English teams in Europe and Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League triumph. Joining the Reds in the Champions League are Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Spurs.

No English team has won the Champions League since City in 2023, while Liverpool last lifted the trophy in 2019. Last season, Arne Slot’s side were eliminated in the round of 16 by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.

The Champions League fixture list, including match dates and kick-off times, will be released no later than Saturday August 30.

The draw, which takes place in Monaco, will see the 36 qualified teams are divided into four pots based on their individual UEFA club coefficient rankings. Starting with pot one, each team will be drawn individually, with eight opponents determined via UEFA’s automated software.

Pot one features heavyweights such as Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona.

Each team will play a total of eight group-stage matches—one home and one away against two teams from each pot.

English clubs cannot face another English team in the group stage, nor can a club play more than two matches against teams from the same country, such as Italy’s Napoli or Juventus.

Having won the Premier League last season, Liverpool enter the tournament among the favorites, with the final scheduled for Saturday, 30 May, at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

The group stage kicks off in mid-September and is scheduled to conclude at the end of January.
