Alasdair Gold has revealed why Djed Spence was not part of Tottenham’s matchday squad at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.
Spurs delivered a toothless performance at Fulham and emerged with another loss, with the Lilywhites still waiting for their first win of 2026.
The two back-to-back losses in London derbies have come as a reality check for Igor Tudor, who admitted that he has lots of problems to solve over the coming weeks.
Thankfully for Spurs, their relegation rivals, West Ham and Nottingham Forest, also lost over the weekend.

Djed Spence becomes Tottenham’s latest injury victim
Pedro Porro returned from his injury to start for Spurs at Craven Cottage, but Spence was not part of the matchday squad.
Alasdair Gold has now confirmed that the 25-year-old has become the latest Tottenham player to pick up an injury.
However, the journalist has described it as a ‘minor calf issue’, which would give Spurs fans hope that the full-back may not be out for too long.

Things are about to get even harder for Spurs
Tottenham have had a relatively quiet fixture list over recent weeks, but things are about to ramp back up now, with the club set to resume its Champions League campaign.
The squad is extremely stretched due to injuries, and Tudor has admitted that his players are not at the required physical level right now.
Playing every three days in a row is going to take its toll on the side, unless we see more of the injured players return to action within the next two weeks.
